Zhongqing Robotics Advances Humanoid Robotics with New Funding and Product Launch
Zhongqing Robotics has recently achieved significant milestones by securing additional funding rounds and unveiling its first mass-produced humanoid robot. The company officially introduced the T800, a full-sized, high-performance general-purpose humanoid robot, and simultaneously commenced large-scale commercial sales.
Robust Financial Backing Fuels Innovation and Expansion
Following the successful completion of its Pre-A++ and initial A1 funding rounds, which collectively raised approximately US$140 million to support core research and development as well as product enhancements, Zhongqing Robotics has now closed its A1+ and A2 financing stages. These latest rounds attracted a blend of local government-backed investors, market-driven institutions, and strategic industrial partners.
The A2 round was spearheaded by Huangpu River Capital and Henan Investment Group’s Huirong Fund, with continued participation from existing stakeholders such as Huakong Fund, LeiShi Capital, and Fortune Venture Capital, who increased their investments. Additionally, six new investors, including CNC Investment and CCTV Fund, joined the consortium. This diversified investment portfolio underscores strong market confidence in Zhongqing’s technological prowess and commercialization potential.
The T800: A Breakthrough in Humanoid Robotics Performance
Launched concurrently with the funding announcement, the T800 humanoid robot embodies Zhongqing’s proprietary technologies, delivering remarkable advancements in peak torque, battery endurance, and dexterous manipulation capabilities. Its physical strength and agility exceed that of over 90% of adult males, positioning it as a leading solution for complex industrial tasks.
At the core of the T800 is an innovative “body-brain” integrated intelligence system, which significantly enhances task accuracy and operational reliability. This architecture enables the robot to perform delicate and precise actions such as plugging, unplugging, and assembly with high success rates.
Versatile Configurations Tailored for Diverse Applications
The T800 is offered in four distinct configurations, including a base model and an open-source variant, designed to meet the needs of research institutions, educational programs, industrial collaborations, and other specialized environments. Beyond the T800, Zhongqing’s product lineup features both full-body humanoid and bipedal robotic platforms, catering to a wide range of use cases.
Scaling Production and Accelerating Industrial Adoption
To support upcoming large-scale orders, Zhongqing Robotics has established a dedicated manufacturing facility in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District. The company is committed to continuous improvement of its core components, including ergonomic body designs, advanced motion-control algorithms, and application-specific functionalities. These efforts aim to expedite the widespread industrial deployment of humanoid robots.
With the robotics market projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 20% through 2030, Zhongqing Robotics is strategically positioned to capitalize on increasing demand for intelligent automation solutions across manufacturing, logistics, and service sectors.
