Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal’s injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal‘s West Ham United post-mortem might be well underway, but the Gunners also now have a midweek encounter with Premier League surprise package Nottingham Forest to prepare for.

Mikel Arteta‘s side lost at home in the Premier League for the first time this season on Saturday, succumbing to a Jarrod Bowen winner in a dampening 1-0 defeat to London rivals West Ham United at the Emirates.

Their title hopes hanging by an incredibly thin thread, Arsenal were eight points behind Liverpool in the top-flight table on Saturday night, but that gap has now increased to 11 courtesy of the Reds’ potentially pivotal 2-0 win over Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the Gunners’ latest injury and suspension news before their showdown with Forest, whose late comeback was in vain in an absorbing 4-3 loss to Newcastle United on Sunday.

Injury was added to insult for Arsenal when Ethan Nwaneri limped off in the second half of the West Ham loss, but Arteta played down his concern as fatigue after the game, and he should be fine for the midweek contest.

Gabriel Martinelli is expected to be the next cab off the rank in terms of Arsenal’s long-term victims, but it will still be another couple of weeks before the Brazilian’s hamstring injury is fully healed.

Return date: March 4 (vs. PSV Eindhoven)

Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent off for the second time in the 2024-25 Premier League season against West Ham, having denied Mohammed Kudus a clear goalscoring opportunity, and the Englishman serves a one-match ban in midweek.
