Introducing Robotera’s L7: A Cutting-Edge Full-Size Humanoid Robot with Advanced Mobility and Manipulation
Robotera, a pioneering Chinese startup specializing in humanoid robotics, has launched the L7 model-an innovative full-sized bipedal robot designed to deliver exceptional agility and precise manipulation capabilities. Established in 2023 as a spin-off from Tsinghua University, Robotera has quickly become a key player in the robotics industry.
Robust Financial Backing Fuels Rapid Growth
Since its inception, Robotera has secured a total of $111 million through two significant funding rounds. The most recent pre-Series A round in early 2024 raised approximately $42 million (300 million yuan), with major contributions from Alibaba Group, Vision Plus Capital, and Crystal Stream Capital. Earlier, a Series A round led by CDH Investments and Haier Capital brought in around $70 million, underscoring strong investor confidence in the company’s vision and technology.
Expanding Global Footprint and Diverse Product Line
Currently in mass production, Robotera has shipped over 200 units worldwide, with international orders accounting for more than half of total sales. Their product portfolio includes the Q5, a wheeled humanoid robot; the STAR 1, a full-sized industrial humanoid; and the ERA 42 AI platform, designed for executing complex tasks with high precision.
STAR 1: A Glimpse into the Future of Industrial Automation
Scheduled for commercial release by mid-2025, the STAR 1 robot boasts impressive specifications such as 55 degrees of freedom, joint torque reaching 400 N·m, and operational speeds up to 25 radians per second. Although pricing and production timelines remain undisclosed, STAR 1 aligns with China’s strategic objective to integrate humanoid robots into industrial supply chains by 2027, enhancing efficiency and flexibility.
Advancing AI-Driven Capabilities for Real-World Applications
Robotera is heavily investing in end-to-end learning models that enhance the robots’ natural language processing, visual perception, and autonomous action execution. These advancements aim to enable deployment across diverse sectors including industrial logistics, retail environments, and other complex operational settings.
