Introducing the RDK S600: A New Era in Embodied Intelligence Computing

At the recent DDC 2025 Conference, D-Robotics unveiled its latest innovation-the RDK S600 compute platform-designed specifically to advance embodied intelligence applications. This cutting-edge platform is slated for release in early 2026, promising to redefine computational capabilities for autonomous systems.

Comprehensive Development Platform with Three Core Capabilities

Alongside the S600, D-Robotics introduced a versatile development ecosystem that integrates three fundamental features:

  • Closed-Loop Data Integration: This system seamlessly connects simulation models with real-world hardware, enabling continuous iterative improvements in autonomous system development.
  • End-to-End Task Support: The platform facilitates comprehensive task assistance across diverse operational scenarios, enhancing robotic adaptability.
  • Agentic Development Tools: Developers can now build and deploy robotic applications using natural language commands, streamlining the creation process and reducing technical barriers.

Bridging the Gap Between Hardware Limitations and Complex Autonomous Tasks

As robots are deployed in increasingly sophisticated environments, the demands on both hardware and software have escalated dramatically. The disparity between the real-time processing needs of advanced models and the constraints of on-device computing has widened. To address this, edge-cloud collaboration has emerged as a vital strategy, leveraging cloud resources to supplement local processing power. This approach not only enhances performance but also accelerates development cycles amid intensifying market competition.

Integrated Hardware-Software Solutions for Enhanced Performance

D-Robotics has responded by creating a holistic solution that spans both edge devices and cloud infrastructure. On the hardware front, the company continues to evolve its proprietary Bernoulli Processing Unit (BPU) architecture, offering two distinct product lines tailored to different computational needs. Complementing this, the cloud platform provides access to hundreds of pre-built robotics algorithms, enabling development teams to rapidly prototype and deploy competitive robotic solutions.

RDK S600: High-Performance Computing for Real-World Robotics

The S600 platform delivers an impressive 560 TOPS (tera operations per second) at INT8 precision, supporting the deployment of large-scale models directly at the edge. Benchmark tests reveal that the S600 outperforms leading platforms by over 2.2 times when running complex models such as Pi-Zero and Qwen2.5-VL-7B. This substantial computational power equips robots to make swift, accurate decisions in dynamic environments.

Modular Approach to Robotics Development

CEO Wang Cong emphasized that D-Robotics is not aiming to produce a one-size-fits-all product. Instead, the company focuses on identifying universal technical challenges across various robotic applications and developing standardized modules to address them. For example, stereo vision technology is utilized across multiple platforms, including robotic vacuum cleaners, lawn mowers, and quadruped robots. By targeting these common bottlenecks, D-Robotics supports a broad spectrum of robotic products. Their motion control algorithms are particularly optimized for adaptability and generalization within embodied intelligence systems.

Streamlining R&D with Standardized Processes

Wang highlighted the company’s commitment to standardizing essential research and development workflows such as data collection, annotation, simulation, and testing. “Our goal is to provide a robust foundational software framework that empowers creativity without imposing constraints-much like how PowerPoint facilitates presentations without dictating content,” he explained. This approach supports highly abstract, multi-scenario R&D efforts, fostering innovation across the robotics industry.

Strategic Focus Areas and Expanding Partnerships

D-Robotics is concentrating its efforts on three key deployment sectors: mass-market robotic products, emerging robotics technologies, and the future of general-purpose embodied robots. The company has forged partnerships with over 60 entities throughout the robotics supply chain, enhancing its ecosystem and accelerating technology adoption.

Rapid Growth Reflecting Market Demand

Over the past year, D-Robotics has experienced remarkable growth, with product shipments increasing by approximately 180% and its customer base expanding by nearly 200%. This surge underscores the rising demand for advanced robotics solutions powered by integrated hardware and software platforms like the RDK S600.
