Introducing the NexLawn Master X Series: A Revolutionary Robotic Lawnmower with Mechanical Arm
At this year’s IFA event in Berlin, numerous autonomous lawnmowers were unveiled, showcasing the latest advancements in garden robotics. Among these innovations, the NexLawn Master X Series Concept stands out as the only model featuring a fully operational robotic arm. NexLawn, a subsidiary of Dreame, proudly presents this groundbreaking device as “the world’s first robotic lawnmower equipped with a versatile mechanical arm.”
Enhancing Lawn Care with Robotic Dexterity
The addition of a robotic arm aims to significantly reduce the manual upkeep typically required by owners of automated lawnmowers. This arm can efficiently clear away fallen branches, leaves, or other debris that might otherwise obstruct the mower’s path or cause damage. Designed with flexibility in mind, the arm can retract to a compact 44.5 cm (approximately 17.5 inches) and extend up to 77 cm (over 30 inches), with a maximum reach of one meter during outdoor operations.
Multi-Functional Attachments for Diverse Tasks
NexLawn has developed several interchangeable tools for the arm, including a multi-gripper for picking objects, a trimming head for precise plant maintenance, and a disc edging head to define lawn borders. Additional attachments are currently under development, broadening the mower’s capabilities. Beyond mowing, the Master X Series Concept is designed to handle tasks such as weeding, fruit picking, and even interacting with pets. A 3D animated demonstration illustrates the mower tossing a ball to a dog, highlighting its potential for engaging with household animals-though the device’s robotic appearance may challenge some pets’ acceptance.
Concept Status and Future Availability
As indicated by the “Concept” label, the Master X Series is still in the prototype phase and not yet available for purchase. NexLawn has not disclosed any specific launch dates or pricing details, suggesting that the product’s commercial release remains on the horizon. However, the innovative design hints at a future where robotic lawnmowers could take on a wider range of garden maintenance tasks, reducing human effort and increasing efficiency.
Looking Ahead: The Future of Garden Robotics
With the global market for robotic lawnmowers expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 15% through 2028, innovations like the Master X Series Concept could redefine outdoor maintenance. By integrating multifunctional robotic arms, these devices may soon perform complex chores beyond mowing, such as pruning, harvesting, and even environmental monitoring, making smart gardening more accessible and convenient.
