Unitree G1 robots battle in the world’s first humanoid robotic combat tournament

On May 25, the CMG World Robot Competition Series Tournament was broadcast live in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The world’s first humanoid combat event, it tests both software and hardware under pressure. A key scoring criteria is whether a robot can get up within 8 seconds of falling. Unitree G1 robots operated by different teams engaged in multiple rounds during the competition. They demonstrated agility, balance and stability by performing side kicks and hooks. They demonstrated their ability to quickly get back up after a fall. The championship was won by a robot called “AI Tactician.”
