Chinese robots company Unitree Robotics unveiled their next-generation bionic robotic humanoid, the UnitreeH2.

Chinese robots company Unitree Robotics officially unveiled their next-generation bionic humansoid, the UnitreeH2. The new model is 180 cm tall, weighs 70 kg and even wears clothes in the official video launch to highlight its lifelike appearance. Unitree is yet to release the full technical specifications but demonstration footage shows the H2 moving with incredible agility, balance and fluidity. The robot is able to perform complex dance and martial art sequences with ease. It displays impressively smooth joint alignment and natural transitions between movement. The new H2 has a bionic face that is similar to that of its predecessor, Unitree H1. This brings it closer to the humanoid robotics that were once only seen in science fiction.

After its appearance at China’s Spring Festival Gala 2024, the H1 gained national attention for its joyful Yangko dancing performance. It went viral both in China and abroad. The Unitree H1 was China’s first humanoid robot that could run. It was a major advancement in general robotics. It is 180 cm tall and weighs 47 kg. It can move at 3.3 meters/second, a world record. It is powered by a 864 Wh battery swappable, which allows for extended operation and quick replacement. The H1 is equipped with 360deg depth vision, 3D LiDAR, and depth cameras. This allows it to capture high precision spatial data, and perform panoramic environment scans in real-time.

Unitree’s debut of the UnitreeH2 continues to push the boundaries of humanoid robots, reducing the gap between machines, humans, and providing a glimpse at the next generation of intelligent and lifelike robotics.
