Zoho Corporation inaugurated on Wednesday a new campus at Kottarakkara in Kerala. The company also acquired Asimov Robotics, partnered with Kerala Startup Mission to launch its deep tech Product Studio and formed associations with various start-ups and organizations for a variety of research and development collaborations.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and Finance Minister KN Balagopal inaugurated the new campus. Shailesh David, Cofounder and CEO of Zoho Corp., Tony Thomas, co-founder, CEO and President of Zoho USA, and Sridhar Vembu Co-founder, Chief Scientist and Co-founder, Zoho Corp., were all present at the ceremony.

Kottarakkara Campus, with a capacity of 250 seats, will initially be dedicated for AI and robotics. Zoho Corp. opened its office in Kottarakkara in 2024 and has been recruiting locals and from nearby towns and villages.

The first three months of the course are spent in a skill-development course where trainees can choose their specialization. Coding in C++, Python and C is a mandatory skill across disciplines. After three months, the trainees will work on different projects for six month and be evaluated on their problem solving abilities and initiative. Those who complete the second phase successfully join Zoho. This programme has so far hired 40 employees.

Push local

Zoho Corp. acquired Asimov Robotics in 2012. The company was founded in 2012, and specializes in providing robotic solutions for industries to address hazardous, inefficient and repetitive scenarios. Asimov Robotics, its employees and the Zoho team will continue their R&D from the Kottarakkara Office.

Our Kottarakkara Office will be dedicated to enhancing R&D in various fields, starting with AI and robotics. We will also be collaborating in these fields with other deep tech companies to further amplify our efforts,” said Shailesh David, CEO and co-founder of Zoho Corp. Balagopal said that the Zoho campus in Kottarakkara is a model for this transformative strategy.
