Thankfully, all the features I liked about the Deebot X8 Pro Omni remain. The docking station of the X9 Pro Omnias is still taller and wider than it is, making it easier to fit in smaller spaces. It still fits in the exact spot I found for the previous version. The vacuum still manages, however, to fit LiDAR sensors into a body without a large node at the top.”is-wp-image-block wp-block-image size-large”>Image source: Christian de Looper. The Osmo Roller Mop, which was unveiled at CES, is still the highlight of the X9 Pro Omni. We’ll discuss how this impacts cleaning performance in a moment, but the basic idea is that the mop pad can be washed inside the vacuum while it mops. The system also allows it to apply more pressure on the floor to better scrub any stuck-on messes.
Ecovacs added a comb-like feature to the vacuum that is designed to remove hairs tangled in the brush. Overall, I found it to be pretty effective at preventing hair from getting tangled on the brush. It wasn’t perfect, but it was better than the X8 Pro Omni.”wp-block-heading” id=”h-ecovacs-deebot-x9-pro-omni-review-app-and-smart-features”Ecovacs Deebot Omni review: App features and designGenerally speaking, Ecovacs’ app is well-designed and easy to use. The mapping feature was a bit difficult for me. You send the vacuum around your house to map the area when you first set it up. It will get a feel for the rooms and walls. It expanded some rooms more than others and did not add walls where it should have. You won’t have to map your entire home again to fix this. You can edit the map by dividing rooms, deleting certain areas, etc., but it took me about 20 minutes to do that, given the number of errors in the map.”is-wp-image-block wp-block-image size-large”>
The X9 Pro Omni is compatible with Matter, so it can be integrated into your smart home ecosystem. I was able add it to Apple Home quickly and easily within a few minutes. From there, I was able to have the vacuum clean my house with options such as vacuuming or vacuuming along with mopping. You can select the rooms to be cleaned and choose between automatic or deep cleaning. The settings and features are not as comprehensive as the Ecovacs App, and it would have been nice to be able to vacuum and mop. The Matter support is a great feature, as it allows me to avoid asking my wife to download a separate app to use the vacuum. She can use the Apple Home app to perform basic tasks. This is what she would normally do with the Ecovacs App.
