KEENON Robotics: Pioneering the Intelligent Evolution of Service Robots
Founded in 2010 in Shanghai, KEENON Robotics has transformed from a research-focused startup into a leading innovator in the service robotics industry. With over a decade of experience, the company has successfully tackled numerous technical challenges and deployed its robotic solutions across diverse sectors including hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, and food service.
Human-Centric Innovation Driving Technological Breakthroughs
At the core of KEENON Robotics’ development philosophy lies a commitment to creating robots that prioritize human needs. While many companies hesitated to commercialize robotics technology in the early 2010s, KEENON concentrated on overcoming critical obstacles such as precise localization and environmental awareness. By integrating advanced Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) techniques, their robots now achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy even in dynamic, cluttered settings, significantly enhancing their real-world functionality.
Introducing the XMAN F1: A Versatile Humanoid Robot for Complex Service Tasks
In July, KEENON unveiled the XMAN F1, marking a strategic shift from specialized machines to adaptable, multi-purpose service robots. Powered by the sophisticated KOM2.0 Visual-Language-Action (VLA) model, this humanoid robot autonomously navigates and performs in a wide range of challenging environments, delivering intelligent assistance tailored to user needs.
Equipped with 3D vision and advanced voice recognition, the XMAN F1 can comprehend and execute intricate commands. For instance, in a hotel setting, it can prepare beverages with precise temperature control, select specific tea varieties, and adjust brewing parameters-all without human intervention.
The robot’s dual arms feature seven degrees of freedom and force-feedback sensors, enabling delicate operations such as opening bottles or folding garments. Each arm can handle weights up to 300 kilograms with sub-millimeter precision, showcasing remarkable dexterity.
Additionally, the XMAN F1 incorporates a reinforcement learning-based dynamic balance system, allowing it to traverse uneven terrain and respond adeptly to unexpected impacts. In simulated domestic environments, it can step over obstacles as high as 5 centimeters while avoiding common household items like pet toys. KEENON is currently piloting the XMAN F1 with partners including Shangri-La Hotels and Walmart, targeting applications in hospitality and warehouse logistics.
Specialized Robots for Diverse Service Environments
Beyond the XMAN F1, KEENON offers tailored robotic solutions designed for specific industries. The T Series excels in maneuvering narrow restaurant aisles, enhancing efficiency in dining establishments. Meanwhile, the M Series integrates ultraviolet sterilization, medication delivery, and waste management capabilities, making it ideal for healthcare and home care settings.
Integrated Hardware, Software, and Data Ecosystem for Continuous Improvement
KEENON Robotics’ innovation extends beyond physical hardware to encompass proprietary algorithms and data-driven learning. The company’s in-house developed KEENON chip boosts computational performance while minimizing energy consumption, enabling robots to operate longer with greater efficiency.
The KOM2.0 large-scale model, trained on extensive scenario datasets, incorporates few-shot learning techniques that allow rapid adaptation to new environments and tasks. This synergy between hardware, software, and data forms a closed-loop system that supports ongoing refinement and evolution of KEENON’s robotic platforms.
Global Expansion and Vision for the Future
With marketing centers established in over 60 countries, KEENON Robotics has a strong international presence spanning markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Europe. The company is actively expanding its research and development footprint with new centers planned in Germany, Japan, and the United States.
Looking ahead, KEENON aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the service industry by advancing intelligent robotics solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience worldwide.
