Swimming pools offer a perfect escape for unwinding, which makes the chore of cleaning them feel especially tedious. Instead of spending time skimming debris, wouldn’t you rather relax with a refreshing drink? Traditional robotic pool cleaners simplify maintenance but often come with cumbersome cords that tangle on ladders or get stuck under steps. The Wybot B1 eliminates these hassles by offering a fully cordless, battery-powered robotic cleaner that you simply place in the water and activate. Its intuitive design makes it feel more like a fun gadget than a cleaning device, yet it delivers professional results.

Wybot has established itself in the robotic pool cleaner market over recent years, and the B1 model represents their entry-level cordless option. It’s designed specifically for above-ground pools and smaller in-ground pools where running a power cord is inconvenient and a high-end robot is unnecessary.

Operating the Wybot B1: Effortless Pool Maintenance

The B1 is tailored for smaller pools, including most above-ground models and compact in-ground pools. Its drop-and-go operation features a top-access filter basket and comes with a handy retrieval hook.

Inside the package, you’ll find the robotic cleaner, a retrieval hook, a charger, and replacement foam filters. Charging the unit and syncing it with the companion app took under five minutes, making setup quick and straightforward.

Once in the pool, the B1’s operation is seamless. Select your pool’s shape in the app, pick a cleaning mode, and place the robot in the water. The absence of a power cord is a game-changer-no more untangling cables or tripping hazards on the deck. For pools located far from power outlets, this cordless design significantly simplifies maintenance.

The lightweight design and ergonomic handle make it easy to maneuver before submerging. Once underwater, the robot achieves neutral buoyancy, allowing its motors to glide effortlessly across surfaces. The included retrieval hook simplifies removal after cleaning. I was impressed by how swiftly it navigated the pool once activated.

The B1 follows a systematic cleaning route, moving in parallel lanes across the pool floor and smoothly transitioning along walls and corners. Even pools with sloped sides posed no challenge. The filter basket is easily accessible from the top and rinses clean quickly, often faster than the cleaning cycle itself.

Key Features and Specifications

Designed for pools up to 1,150 square feet, the B1 covers most above-ground pools and smaller in-ground pools-such as a typical 16-by-32-foot backyard pool. For larger pools, Wybot offers the C1 model, which supports up to 1,600 square feet and provides longer battery life. The B1’s battery lasts up to 120 minutes, sufficient for a full cleaning cycle in most cases. Note that charging occurs between cycles, so plan accordingly for larger pools.

Weighing just 13 pounds when dry, the B1 is easy to lift and handle. It features three motors: one for suction and two powering brushes located at the front corners. These brushes help the robot maintain close contact with edges and corners, sweeping debris toward the intake. The app offers multiple cleaning modes, including floor-only, floor-and-wall, and waterline cleaning, allowing you to customize the cycle based on your pool’s needs. After finishing, the B1 automatically parks itself against the pool wall, eliminating the need to dive in for retrieval. Its modular components, such as brushes and filter basket, are tool-free and quick to remove for maintenance.

Who Should Consider the Wybot B1?

The B1 is not designed to replace premium robotic cleaners built for Olympic-sized pools or extended unattended operation. Instead, it targets pool owners frustrated by managing power cords and manual cleaning. If your pool is under 1,150 square feet and you’ve struggled with corded vacuums, the B1 offers a convenient, cordless alternative. For larger pools or heavy debris seasons requiring daily cleaning, the more powerful C1 model is recommended.
