Revolutionizing Tactile Sensing with Strategic Investment

Shenzhen-based innovator Daimon Robotics, established by professors from HKUST, has successfully secured a substantial strategic funding round led by China Mobile. This capital injection is set to accelerate the development of their cutting-edge high-resolution optical tactile sensors and comprehensive embodied intelligence solutions tailored for humanoid robotics and other advanced applications.

Record-Breaking Funding Milestone in the Tactile Sensing Sector

On December 4, 2025, Daimon Robotics announced a new strategic financing round amounting to tens of millions of US dollars, marking its second major funding event within just three months. This latest round elevates the company’s total capital to several hundred million RMB, establishing a new benchmark for angel-stage investments in the tactile sensing industry. Spearheaded by the China Mobile Industrial Chain Fund, the proceeds will fuel cutting-edge research and development, scale up mass production, refine VTLA model architectures, and support global market expansion.

Founders and Expertise Driving Innovation

Founded in August 2023 by HKUST professors Wang Yu and Duan Jianghua, Daimon Robotics unites elite researchers and engineers from top academic institutions. The company excels in tactile perception, dexterous manipulation, and monochromatic optical tactile sensing technologies. Its flagship product, the DM-Tac sensor, stands out as the world’s only multi-dimensional, ultra-high-resolution touch sensor, boasting sensing densities that surpass the sensitivity of the human fingertip. Additionally, DM-Tac demonstrates remarkable durability, shattering multiple technical barriers within the industry.

Comprehensive Ecosystem for Embodied Intelligence

Daimon Robotics has developed an integrated “perception-manipulation-learning” ecosystem that encompasses tactile sensors, robotic end effectors, teleoperation platforms, and humanoid robots. This holistic approach delivers turnkey solutions across a variety of industries, from manufacturing automation to advanced prosthetics. Since launching its optical tactile sensor series in April 2025, Daimon has rapidly ascended to a top-six global ranking. Within six months of the initial release, the company introduced an upgraded generation of its sensor technology, further enhancing performance and application scope.

Strategic Partnership with China Mobile and Future Outlook

As a pivotal member of China Mobile’s industrial ecosystem, Daimon Robotics is set to deepen collaboration by integrating VTLA large-model capabilities to maximize data-driven value creation. The partnership aims to establish industry-leading applications in embodied intelligence, positioning Daimon at the forefront of the emerging embodied AI landscape. Leveraging its robust industrial connections and technological prowess, Daimon is poised to lead innovation in tactile sensing and intelligent robotics worldwide.
