Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto announced recently the formation of two departments — spatial robots and wearable robots — as part a decision made by its strategic committee. Both departments will be under the Product Division, headed by senior vice-president Fan Haoyu. The report stated that the establishment of the spatial robots department is likely in line with Li Auto’s concept of “smart spaces”. Li Xiang, CEO of Li Auto, said in December that cars will evolve from being transportation tools of the Industrial Age to spatial robots for the AI era.
