The first successful vertical takeoff by a jet powered flying humanoid robotic device, developed at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. The robot lifted 50cm off the ground, while maintaining dynamic stability. This was made possible by advanced AI-based controls and aerodynamic modelling.

In a first step towards our mission to deploy general-purpose robots we are pushing the boundaries of what end-to -end AI models can do in the real-world. We have been training models, evaluating their capabilities, and comparing them to different embodiments, environments and physical interactions. We are sharing demonstrations of capability on tasks that stress different aspects of manipulation, such as fine motor control, spatial precision, temporal precision, generalization between robots and settings, robustness to external perturbations, etc.
Thank you, Noah!
Ground Control Robotics introduces SCUTTLE, its newest multi-legged elongated platform for mobility anywhere.
Teleoperation is not new, but it has never been accompanied by precise, real-time feedback. Flexiv is here to shake up the industry. You can now experience high-fidelity, seamless remote manipulation, no matter where you are.
This type of training usually requires human intervention, and robot arms with precise real-time force feedback would be the best solution. Hmm, where would you find those …?

1X World Model, a data-driven simulation for humanoid robotics built on a solid understanding of physics. It allows us to “hallucinate” or predict the outcomes of NEO actions before they are taken in the real-world. We can quickly assess the performance and efficiency of AI models using the 1X World Model. This reduces development time, and provides a benchmark for continuous improvement.

The interactive robotic artwork SLAPBOT by Hooman and Chandler Cheng explores the dynamics of physical interactions, artificial agency and power. The installation features a robot arm fitted with an inflatable, soft hand that delivers slaps via pneumatic actuation. This transforms a visceral, human gesture into a programmed response.
Of course, I asked if SLAPBOT slaps humans, and it doesn’t: “Despite its provocative design and evocative concept, SLAPBOT makes no physical contact with human participants. It simulates slapping but does not deliver a real strike. The robotic arm’s movements have been choreographed precisely to suggest the act while maintaining a safe distance.

Thanks, Hooman!
We would love robots to inspect the bowels and hulls of ships for us. Please, thank you.

H2L Corporation, (hereinafter called H2L), has unveiled a product called “Capsule Interface,” that transmits whole body movements and strength. This allows for new shared experiences between robots and avatars. A video introducing the product depicting synchronization that humans have never experienced before was also released.

The video demonstrates a heavy lifting test using the ARMstrong Dex robotic system, focusing on a bicep curl movement of 40 kg. ARMstrong Dex, a dual-arm hydraulic human-sized robot is currently being developed at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute for disaster response applications. ARMstrong Dex can handle complex operations in hazardous environments. It is designed to perform tasks flexibly, like a person, while delivering a high power output.

Micro-robots that can inspect water pipes, diagnose cracks, and fix them autonomously–reducing leaks and avoiding expensive excavation work–have been developed by a team of engineers led by the University of Sheffield.
We are growing in size, impact, and scale! We are excited to announce that the first robotaxi assembly facility in America, located in the San Francisco Bay Area will be opening soon. More space means greater innovation, production and opportunities to scale up our fleet.

This ICRA 2025 Plenary Talk is by Raffaello d’Andrea and is entitled “Models Are Dead, Long Live Models!” (19659057)
Will data solve robotics, automation and robots? Absolutely! Never! Who knows? Let’s debate it!
